Position Purpose:

Provide leadership for designers by managing projects effectively and ensuring the achievement of creative excellence by supporting and driving L&F’s creative vision and beliefs – ‘great ideas expertly and beautifully crafted and delivered with rigor and flair’.

Under the direction of a Design Director and/or Creative Director, the Senior Designer will help develop and understand design strategy to deliver the best possible creative solution with consideration of budget for the client and L&F. Ensures all projects are delivered according to L&F’s brand promise “Creative Intelligence”.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

L&F Fundamentals

  • Coordinates projects with outside resources to facilitate production of deliverables.
  • Ensures all correspondence, materials, presentations, proposals, etc., seen by prospective and existing clients are error-free, of highest quality and always relevant to the client’s issues.
  • Partners effectively with all departments to ensure delivery of on-time, high-quality deliverables that address all relevant prospective clients’ requirements.
  • Communicates findings and recommendations in a clear and compelling manner in written, oral and presentation forms.
  • Provides back-up and archiving.
  • Sharing and importing best practices and resources with peers within broader L&F network.
  • Interacts in a positive, professional and motivating manner.
  • Acts as a role model for L&F’s values of Creative Intelligence and 5 core values.

Creative Excellence

  • Provide leadership for designers by managing project assignments.
  • Conducts conceptual exploration, including drawing, sketching, research and thumbnails.
  • Establishes directions and design solutions; ensures implementation of directions from concept through production.
  • Able to put forward a point of view not just on their own work but the work of others.
  • Proficiency in all creative software.
  • May lead project for a client engagements of appropriate size and scope or on the specialised needs of a client project across areas of expertise.
  • Proven ability to be handle multiple projects/tasks at one time.
  • Assists in award entries

  • Assist in evaluating and contributing to developing and writing competitive and breakthrough design strategies and plans.
  • Is capable of leading an internal team toward optimal brand solutions. 
  • Can communicate design strategy to various audiences.  
  • Has developed a sophisticated understanding of design.  
  • Present design solutions to the client in a strategic manner. 

 

Thought Leadership

  • Support the development of thought leadership pieces for the team.

Commercial Awareness

  • Is aware of studio utilisation and profitability on assigned projects.  
  • Partners with DD’s to maintain high utilisation.

  • Seeks out opportunities for personal creative growth by working outside area of specialisation.
  • Acts as a role model for L&F’s values of Creative Intelligence and 5 core values.
  • Responsible for individual performance management of direct reports, including performance appraisals and interim performance reviews.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ design experience in a branding/design agency
